Blog Journal #9
Hello again! I have experienced distance/ remote learning, and I first started to experience it during my senior year of high school. During my senior year of high school when COVID-19 started to spread and the world was on lockdown, my high school started doing Zoom for classes. I then started doing college through distance learning. I have overall enjoyed my experience of distance learning. I feel it helped with my transition from high school to college and now I have started to go to in-person classes more. Online learning kind of my school anxiety on pause. The one thing I did not like about distance learning was the transition from distance learning to in-person learning. I feel like I pressed play on my school anxiety again and now I am learning again how to cope with it. In the future as a teacher, I plan to communicate clearly and give my students materials that are accessible to them both inside and outside of the classroom. I also plan to constantly do announcements weekly to several times a week to keep my students updated on what is happening in our classroom.
Open Educational Resources (OER) are resources that are available to anyone for using, remixing, updating, sharing, and adapting. Examples of these types of resources include textbooks, worksheets, lesson plans, and quizzes. The open educational resources website is a great website for finding resources online. The home page asks what are you looking for, the subject, educational level, and what type of standard for the resources.

After completing the two PowerPoint assignments I learned many new skills that I would be able to use in the future when I have to use PowerPoint for work. A couple new skills that I acquired from these past two assignments include my overall level of knowledge of how to design on PowerPoint and my understanding of how to edit certain images within the PowerPoint program. On the next power point assignment I can learn more about certain slide transitions and elements that I can do within the slide. This would be a great way to make my PowerPoint more interesting.
